# Privacy Policy for Polyglot's Chest

This Privacy Policy describes how the Polyglot's Chest application
("Application") handles user data. The Application is developed by
Yana Sedova ("Service Provider") and provided as a free service.

## Summary

The Application stores all your data locally on your device and does not
send personal information to any server operated by the Service Provider.

## Data the Application processes

The Application stores the following information **only on your device**,
in the local app storage:

* Your selected native language and the languages you are learning.
* Your learning progress: which words you have studied, your performance
  on each exercise, and statistics for spaced repetition (SM-2 algorithm).
* App settings such as voice input preferences.

This data is **not transmitted** to the Service Provider or to any third
party. It is removed when you uninstall the Application.

## Microphone and speech recognition

Some exercises let you answer by voice. To make this possible, the
Application requests access to the device microphone.

When you use voice input, the audio is processed by **the speech
recognition service built into your Android device** (Google Speech
Services or an equivalent system component, depending on your device).
The handling of this audio is governed by the privacy policy of your
device's operating system and speech recognition provider, not by the
Service Provider.

The Application itself does not record, store, or transmit your voice.

## Permissions used

* **RECORD_AUDIO** - required only for voice input during exercises.
  You can revoke this permission in your device settings at any time;
  voice exercises will then become unavailable, but the rest of the
  Application will continue to work.

## Data not collected

The Application does **not** collect:

* Your IP address.
* Your device location.
* Your name, email, phone number, or any account information.
* Analytics about your usage.
* Crash reports tied to your identity.
* Any advertising identifiers.

## Children

The Application is suitable for users of all ages and does not knowingly
collect any personal information from children under 13.

## Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The "Last updated"
date at the top of this document indicates the most recent revision.
